So Wade became an assistant coach for Brevitt’s U13 lacrosse team and the season ended with a huge bang, they won their bracket at the Rocky Mountain 18th annual Lacrosse Jamboree, one of the largest youth lacrosse events in the country and the fifth largest lacrosse event in the world.

2012 Rocky Mountain Lacrosse Jamboree:

It was a tough beginning, we lost a lot of players to the CYLA League, a competitive boys league in the Denver Metro Area. As a result of putting together an entirely new team, we won one out of fifteen games throughout the season and went to the tournament not expecting much. But that was where the magic began, even though a few of them had their sticks stolen by some thugs, they gelled together as a cohesive whole in the 93 degree heat and we parents sat on the sidelines with our jaws dropped open as the team emerged undefeated.

When a sassy mom from another team approached one of our coaches and said, “I thought you guys sucked,” we all had a great laugh, all the way to the trophy.

So here are some photos of a team that played hard despite the obstacles and came through shining.

Congrats U13, you are one mean and lean team!
